Bison ranch in Wolin National Park

If you’re planning a weekend on the beach in Poland, the great thing about choosing Miedzyzdroje as your beach resort, is that you can take a walk on the wild side with the Bison (and other wild animals) ranch in the Wolin National Park… if you need a break from the beach that is 🙂

So, only a short 20 minute walk away from the sandy beach (try to tear yourself away), you will find yourself surrounded by nature and wildlife – enjoying the delightful shade away from the sun, and the views of enormous wild bison.

The place has been designed well with visitors in mind with wooden picnic areas in the centre. There’s a hut where you buy tickets and can get small souvenirs, there’s also plenty of information posters around so you can learn about all the animals in the ranch. You then get to admire wild boar and deer in their enclosures as well as majestic eagles, before getting to the piece de resistance… the bison!

Once you get to the bison ranch, there’s a great viewing platform where you can (quietly) take photos and videos of the bison as they wander the ranch, chomp on their food and sunbathe (we were there over the summer :)). The small enclosure that we get to see is just a small part of their actual area, they have more land behind where they can roam without the prying eyes of tourists.

Have we whet your appetite? Why not book a weekend to Miedzyzdroje? A great value getaway, and beach walks in Autumn are just as pleasant… and more romantic… without all the tourists around 😉
